Rod Evans

Advisory Chairman

Rod joined Cranecorp in 2016. He has held senior executive roles and directorship’s across a range of industry sectors. He has been involved in some of Australia’s largest corporate acquisitions and capital raisings and consults on business strategy across a wide range of businesses and other organisations. He lectures in strategy at Curtin University and is currently completing a PhD on the role of boards in developing breakthrough ideas. Rod is also currently the chairman of Ashburton Assurance Australasia.

Rick Musarra

Executive Director / Founder

Rick has worked and lived with cranes all his life. His father worked in the crane industry, first as a crane driver and, in later years, as a crane supervisor and in management. Rick initially completed an apprenticeship as a motor mechanic and then attained a certificate in dogging and rigging. Rick spent fifteen years working on major construction projects, operating large capacity cranes both on and offshore. In 1994 he purchased his first crane, a 25t Tadano, and contracted to Brambles for three years before forming his own company in 1997, Goldfields Crane Hire. As the business expanded Rick invited Craig O’Donnell to join him in 2001.

Rod White

CEO

Rod joined Cranecorp in 2018 as CEO. He is the principal of Hagan White Birch, strategy consultants to the resources sector. His career includes 20 years working for Shell in London, Chicago, Kuala Lumpur and Australia, where he held the positions of Global Vice President Shell Services, and COO Shell Services International. He has also worked as Executive General Manager with Leighton Services and Sedgman and has worked on a range of diverse strategy projects including the disaggregation of Western Power. He has a B.SC (Hons) in mining engineering and received an order of merit as a graduate of the AICD. He is currently the chair of the Tailor Made Spirits Co (The West Winds Gins).

Craig O’Donnell

Executive Director / Group Asset Manager 

Craig began his career as a Heavy Duty Mechanic, completing a 4 year apprenticeship with BHP in which he also obtained his Dogman’s ticket. The following year he moved to Karratha as a Dogman at the Burrup Supply Base. Craig spent the next 20 years working as a rigger/scaffolder/crane operator on construction and mining projects all over Australia, with the later years predominately in the offshore oil and gas maintenance/construction sector.
